Nora Roberts offers easy to read fantasy/romantic novels for those of us who like to escape now and then. Her trilogies are particularly enjoyable as you get the chance to follow different characters introduced in a book. Each book in the trilogy focuses on one character and tells the story from their point of view, but still incorporates a familiar cast of characters. Roberts also includes ghosts or mystical forces in many of her books and that can be quite interesting. I do find her books to be a bit "cookie cutter" but I guess I like knowing the basic outline. She does, from time to time, throw in the unexpected so I guess that also keeps me buying her books. I recommend her books to those who enjoy romance/suspense with happy endings.Product details

I have read and reread this trilogy at least four times. I love the characters so much. Their strength yet vulnerability. Their dreams and their accomplishments. The intrigue of the unearthly being. Each woman has her own great story filled with every emotion. The three come together having experienced many of the same feelings though their circumstances were each different. I love how they all come to live with, learn from and love each other. I WILL be rereading this yet again many more times I am certain.
As with all of Nora Robert's trilogies the same set of characters are in each book. By the second book you've bonded with them and by the third you hate to say goodbye. This trilogy was particularly interesting as it focused on plants and gardening along with character dynamics. I like learning things from the books I read as well as being entertained. These books certainly came through.
I love all of Nora Roberts' books written with some magical or supernatural elements of which this book has both. Add to that the setting in Ireland and I am completely in love. What I did not expect was how much humor is also in this romance. There were many times that I laughed right out loud disturbing my husband's football watching in the process. I was disappointed when the story ended as I still wanted more. I loved the whole series, not just this book and highly recommend it to anyone.
After I finished this awesome romantic novel I felt compelled to mention that this book would really make an awesome movie. I've even envisioned who would be cast in the dominate roles. This book thrilled me and allowed me to escape my own reality so much that if there hadn't been a follow-up, I would have been terribly disappointed. On to Book#2
The beginning threw me off but it totally tied everything together at the end! I HAD to get the other two books to complete this series. Nora Roberts has another Triology called Finding The Dream that I loved years ago.... (in hard copy and audio) but have not gotten into her recent books that seem to be so mystic. Just too over the top for me. And was disappointed in a few I read. But found this series and am loving it. I just finished the second one and am saving the Black Rose for a trip that I have to go on at the end of this week! I am looking forward to the drive now! This one was five stars hands down! Better as an audio book!
I love Nora Roberts. I hated to answer the "how would you describe" questions that gave you a choice of answers that didn't necessarily apply. Her books always have well developed characters, a dollop of the supernatural and the topic of this book - gardening and the lives of a group of gardeners (who, for the record, are far from boring) and a resident ghost who likes to stir up trouble and who lives in the beautiful old mansion that belongs to one of the main characters. While some of Nora's books are perhaps a bit faster paced than these, that doesn't mean you aren't in for the usual interesting twists and turns and a unique story line. If you like Nora Roberts you'll like these books, if you like to garden, you'll like them even more, if you don't like to garden, no worries, there's plenty of romance and other things to keep your interest. I don't know how Nora Roberts manages to come up with so many books each with a unique set of circumstances and unique characters.
This is such a great book, that I look forward to going back and reading these stories again like some of her stories that I already have, and now I find myself impatient to read the rest of Nora Roberts' stories right now. Hot, Hot, Hot, love scenes, a well written, creative and intriguing story about an old southern family and their ghost, an adventure to find out who she was and why the ghost called Amelia seems to throw a tantrum every time someone in the house begins to fall in love. The entire series is so well written, plus has inventive, vivid characters, all on top of seriously wonderful love and romance. Each story is about one key person's path to finding your soul mate and love. How they are all linked through intricate, messy connections to each other, the house, and the past. It's almost like a blockbuster movie you get the privilege of witnessing about these people's powerful, emotional, and often times painful journey while falling in love. Roberts is one of my most favorite author's, and she doesn't disappoint in this series. Her unique style and classy, yet moving love scenes, paint a beautiful picture that leaves a person longing for something similar for themselves. All of that is combined into this fantastic series that has a unique mystery from the past and makes this set a "must-have"!!!! I didn't want to set it down....seriously!! Lol I was nodding off over my book on several different occasions. Roberts' ebooks are on average a little more expensive than some, but I still say they are well worth the price and more to have a her talent and creativity in your library collection!!!!!!
