One of the best hCG information books I've seen. There is not only information on how to do the diet but there are sections that step by step take you from shopping lists to great recipes. I particularly like it because it is laid out week by week.....ie. here's the shopping list and directly following are that weeks recipes.
Unfortunately, this book wasn't what I was expecting. I can find all the information included in the book elsewhere online for free. The back of the book leads you to a website for free print outs of weekly meals, but then gives a sales pitch for motivational weekly recordings at a whopping cost of $60. I declined the offer, but am receiving daily emails still to purchase the offer.
NOT worth it!
I started HCG diet 3 weeks ago and have lost 18 lbs. I have followed the required regimen but my food prep has been basic and unimaginative. I am very busy. Meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking are (or have been) low on my priority list. This book has made my life and the diet MUCH easier. It is short and sweet in explaining the diet, providing the menus and grocery lists. The recipes are simple to prepare and delicious! Having to prepare my meals with minimal ingredients and using fresh, non-processed foods has produced unexpected results. I feel great, I'm more focused and have a lot of energy. Now that I have these recipes and grocery lists I have a renewed interest in cooking again and plan to eliminate as much processed foods as possible from my diet even after I reach my target weight. I plan on 3 more weeks of Phase II and I am thrilled to have found this book to help me make the meals easy and far more interesting than what I was preparing!
I purchased several HCG diet books but this one, by far, was the best. It completely lays everything out for you and also gives you a link to log on and print out the menu and shopping lists for the entire week. It breaks it down by how you want to eat too if you prefer meat over seafood or completely vegetarian over meat and/or seafood. I sent them an e-mail saying the only thing that would make it better is an online tool to build from the selection of Phase II and Phase III recipes, but for now they given me everything to build that on my own manually. I like that they are simple recipes for someone like me who is extremely busy. Once you have all of the ingredients they suggest it's really just throwing things together. There is some prep, like dicing garlic, tomatoes or strawberries but it really goes fast if you do it in advance (when you have the time) and throw it in a container to use later.
What a RIP-OFF!!!! The appendix is said to be print friendly menus etc, but all you get is a pitch to buy a pep talk plan for approx $60!!! There are NO RECIPES!
UPDATE so I find emails that are to be downloaded from there for these bonus items, although there was never anything to indicate they were being sent by email vs a straight download. While I haven't yet looked at the recipes, I'm hopeful based on what was described within the book.
I was really excited about this book since I have done the hcg diet multiple times and always have a hard time finding recipes I like. Anyway, this book was a huge disappointment. Some of the recipes are only 3 ingredients, and it's stuff that is common sense. (Example Beef, soy sauce, broccoli)
Other recipes are very complicated, yet turn out disgusting. I made the fennel soup because I love fennel, and it was disgusting! Seriously one of the grossest things I have ever tried.
The book is good but Anne Wolfinger is a shyster in my opinion. he back of her book says to go to a website and download the easy shopping lists. when you get to the website IT even says click here for free instant access. But as you click through they want you to watch a 20 minute sales pitch and then purchase $60 of "Support". total ripoff.
It's an ok book but all you really need is a copy of Dr. Simeons journal "Pounds & Inches" which is available free on the internet. I regret the money I have spent on books that were written by people who think they know more about this diet than the Doctor who spent over 50 years creating this diet.
